Pawel the father bear

Size: 48" x 48"

This is the story as I recall it.

Pawel the father bear:
Many years ago, in the dark and enchanted forests of what is today Poland, lived a bear and his cubs.

Pawel was a humble and small bear. No bear ever heard him give a big growl, he was not the best hunter, and he spent too much time sitting and thinking.

Pawel had two cubs. Milosz was a sweet and gracious cub. Milosz would share his food, let others have the warm spot in their den, and never wandered. Borys was strong and big. He had a big growl, pushed his way to eat first, and demanded the best spot in the den. Borys wanted to be big.

One day Pawel, Milosz, and Borys went into the enchanted forest by a little village next to a river looking for food. Borys led the way followed by Pawel and Milosz was last.

Borys became confident and started to growl, run, and tromple his way through the forest. Pawel told him to be quiet so as to not scare away food or alert the villagers. Borys continued his loud behavior. Pawel again told him to be quiet. Borys continued his loud behavior. Milosz didn’t speak but looked with fear at his father.

Pawel stopped and stood tall. He gave the deepest, strongest and scariest growl ever heard in the forest.

Borys stopped. Borys sat and sunk his head. Milosz sat and sunk his head too.

The cubs had never heard their father give such a growl. Milosz and Borys waited but their father never spoke.

Pawel took his paw and pushed Borys back to the front of the line and pushed Milosz to the back. The family continued on their way.

This time when Borys went too fast or was too noisy Milosz growled and Borys stopped.
