Eddie Hamilton

My painting is a reflection of a personal journey in pursuit of balance and peace. My influences range from post-impressionists like Gaugin and Serusier to contemporaries like Haring. I paint both with the intent of evoking a feeling of awe from nature but also capturing a pure and impressionistic feel that gives the image the essence of the fragility of nature and the absurd joy I get from being a part of it all.

The evolution of my painting has gone from realism, to abstract to a fauvist figurative period. Now, I feel a need to explore peace and balance with myself and nature. The play between dark and bright colors brings forward the mysteries of life. With so much unknown and when something comes to light or is experienced it becomes bright and significant.

I want the viewer to experience the playfulness and mystery of nature while feeling peaceful and balanced. Some people even see my wondrous joy of nature come through.

Inspiration
